This is by Tom Thomson

In this blog I will will be evaluating these two pieces of art on their quality and their intention... and give my response to them. Tom Thomson's piece is very striking with two bright colours red and yellow. Thomson tries to depict a beautiful sunset, I am not sure what his intent is in painting this piece. accept to depict the beauty of nature, this may be a late autumn sunset when it is not yet cold enough for snow. The landscape s being covered by shadows as the seasons change and the days grow shorter. Perhaps Thomson was trying to show us how short beauty can last.. a colorful sunset only lasts for perhaps an hour. we must grab life by the horns while we are still young and able to enjoy the beauty of life around us .... we cannot wait around for better weather or warmer seasons we must enjoy the very moment we are living in. I guess that about sums up my response to... And being from Tom Thomson the Quality is very good.. i enjoy the defined lines he uses .. leaving everything so clear for us.... or is it?
Monet's creations are always so smooth and soothing. I think his intent in this piece is to capture the viewer in the peace..... to calm them and call the away from the stress and bustle that make up our lives, for nothings is as soothing as the tinkle of soft moving water... wee for me anyway. to drift down a stream in a small boat would be a time to cherish. the quality of this piece is well. very good.. Monet unlike Thomson uses soft shades that all meld into our own imaginations. Listening to "Waiting..." by Dallas Green while viewing this painting makes you want to cry.. with joy..
